Hello Friends!
Mommy says that I am very much a part of this blog site too—and maybe once in awhile I can say a couple of things. She likes to talk—so now I get my turn.
Some people have been asking how to say my name—it’s hard to say something you’re not familiar with- but don’t worry, my parents are pretty understanding. My mom says that you can think of my name in 3 parts- Ben-I-ah! (Like you “get” something)…that’s one trick but you can call me Ben for short. My dad thought about this name for over 10 years…he has been waiting a long time for me. Mommy says that it fits me perfectly—not only because it means “God made this” --but because it’s unique, just like me; not a lot of other kids out there like me. I’m pretty special.
Things are nice and warm where I am at—the temperature is a constant 98.6 degrees—perfect for me! Mommy says I’m lucky because I don’t have to be the cold winter weather. I keep busy during the days free floating around and swimming like a fish. For entertainment—I like to push on Mommy’s bladder and see how fast she can move to the bathroom—it’s hilarious to see her “run!” Daddy says I’m like him in that sense, keeping Mommy on her toes!
My favorite stuffed animal is my giraffe. Mommy likes to hold it when she sits in her chair….she cuddles with it because it will be about my size. It’s soft and has an adorable little tail. I think it brings her comfort since I’m not there yet.
I love to eat ice cream. Daddy brought Mommy some home yesterday—a caramel sundae from McDonalds. I’d like to think it was because I’m so special, plus I turned 22 weeks yesterday!
I also like to hear from my cousin…He wrote me this great text message…
“Deer Naiah..I jes want 2 tell u happy Friday berfday…I luv u…momy sez ur cute’n in Aunt Tara’s belly…I like to kis the ‘puter screen with your picture. Luv, your cousin.”
I enjoy him and his brother. He too has a pretty cool God story.
Last night we went to a big person birthday party! I like my Mom and Dad’s friends—they all seem very special. Thank you for taking care of my parents…people have been sending flowers, cards, and even food! I know that it’s hard, but I’m not sad. God and I, we talk- and He promises to take care of you all. I tell my mommy to be strong and not to worry. She sometimes listens.
Speaking of listening—I have to listen to my parents try and sing to me—needless to say, it’s not angelic-- but I like it!!! I love hearing my daddy’s voice; it’s a deep, soothing tone. Many times I’ll give him a kick and let him know I’m tuning in to his performance. My mom sings “Rubber Ducky” in the shower..she likes to change up the words up a bit. They also like to sing me “Baby Love” by Diana Ross. They crack me up—they only know the first part and then hum the rest-what goof balls! My favorite thing is when I hear them laugh, be silly, and tease each other—it brings me lots of comfort. Here is a picture of them in Florida last year--they are trying to imitate a statue—Whose parents do this?
One of my Mommy’s favorite stories at the doctor’s office is when the nice lady was taking my picture. I was busy and they expected me to sit still- HA! As she put that microphone thingy on Mommy’s belly—I took my hand, reached up, and pushed against it—“Okay folks, no more for today”. But she was quick and snapped a couple more pictures showing off my adorableness….
I have some exciting news—for my 23rd week of life—Mommy and Daddy are going to take me to see the ocean in Florida!!! Mommy says that is her favorite place to be and Daddy got us a hotel room right on the beach (I think it’s because he loves us a lot!). Mom says it gives her lots of peace being there-it reminds her of how big and vast our God is. My grandma and grandpa will be down there too, can’t wait to see them! It’ll be a great vacation!
Okay, have to go for now…I’m sure Mommy and Daddy will keep you posted. I love you all—Thanks for praying for me. I’m going to be just fine….
Hugs and Kisses,
Naiah

ReplyDeleteOh, Benaiah! Only your mother could make me laugh out loud in the midst of bawling my eyes out. You are in for quite a ride my little man ;-D
ReplyDeleteI'll remember to pray (more) for you each time I see your mom race by me in the hall at school on her way to the restroom, knowing your eyes are twinkling with mischief. And each time I see her run, I'll smile. Thanks for being a blessing in my life too, kiddo. XXOO
You don't know us. We are Missy's nurse Angela and Dr. Saunders. I just wanted to let you know you all are in our thoughts and prayers also. If there is any thing we can do please let us know. Enjoy each and every movement Naiah makes for this is a blessing from God!

You don't know me, (I'm Melissa's cousin-in-law) but she shared the news you received and your blogsite. I've read from the beginning, and I have wanted so much to say comforting words, but in truth, your perspective and determination to love, praise and perservere have ministered so much to me instead! I am thinking of you both and dear, round-cheeked Benaiah. Praying for hope in the midst of sorrow and comfort in the midst of pain.
